Cascades on the River is situated on the Murray River at Brenda Park, Morgan in South Australia. It is about 165 kilometres northeast of Adelaide and about 315 kilometres upstream of the Murray Mouth.


About Morgan

Morgan is a historic town and popular holiday destination on the Murray. Morgan has an overall population of approximately 850 people.

At the height of the paddle-steamer era, Morgan was the busiest river port in South Australia and has preserved its history for all to enjoy.

Morgan is easily accessible through the Barossa Valley wine region and a stones throw from the Clare Valley wine region and historic mining town of Burra. Alternatively, if you're travelling on the Sturt Highway we're just a short drive from Waikerie and Blanchetown.


Morgan Attractions

Morgan boasts a classic country feel with historic pubs that overlook the reserve. Next to the pubs you'll find the Morgan Riverview Cafe & Takeaway. The local IGA supermarket offers all your everyday needs. Just out of Morgan, Mallyons on the Murray Bush Café and Gallery not only sells organic produce, local arts and crafts, but also home made meals.

Take a walk around Morgan. It’s a town with a rich river history and its own unique identity. The classic Morgan Historic Walk encompasses 48 historic points. The Morgan Historic Museum, located in the old railway buildings on the riverfront, contains an impressive display of memorabilia. The Landseer Building, once a shipping agents storehouse is filled with a remarkable collection old horse drawn wagons and a display showing the history and development of the Morgan - Whyalla Pipeline.
